Testimonials

"When we told Jax he was going to tour a new place, he was nervous. He is a Minecraft lover and didn't want to give up time with that lol. But Jax is a brave one. And he doesn't trust many, but he says I'm his "safe person" and he knows I'd never hurt him. So he walked. He looks up at me with those big, beautiful eyes, grinned, and said "I'm okay."
He walked hand in hand with Vee and I, we walked in the doors, I was able to meet the lovely individuals I've been speaking with, and they gave us the most incredible tour. Jax fell right into it with excitement. How could you not!? We've been on the hunt for the right ABA therapy for Jax, he's had a rough go. But with the support of his school and all the right people, we are on the right track. I was in contact with several facilities for ABA, but kept driving past Star Spectrum every day. And it caught my eye each time I passed it. It pulled on me. Jax hasn't even formally begun, and we already feel so seen and heard. They answered every question, heard me out... and Jax was understood. You don't know how big that is... He has endured more than any child should. He has fought to be heard, understood, and accepted for a decade. I think every parent that has a child with autism, ADHD, or any other variation that both kids and adults deem "different" can understand. We are SO excited for this program. And I highly recommend it. They've been nothing but helpful, kind, and most importantly, compassionate. They provide therapy, they teach, and they advocate. One thing I will never stop doing for Jax, is advocating. Being his voice when his brain is too fast for his mouth. Being his words when he can't find the ones he wants to use. Correcting the adults who put wrong meanings behind his words for their own narratives. Being his "safe person" is the most important title he will ever give me alongside being "mom."
Jax has an army behind him. And I couldn't be more grateful. It's been a long journey, and I feel like we're finally where we need to be."
